Very good small hotel with great service, very friendly staff and the food is very tasty

Service and breakfast are only the bare minimum, dinner is better, otherwise quiet, cozy location.

Very good address. Typical dishes with generous plates. A playground for children.

Very nice inn, as it should be in the Black Forest, lots of wood and really rustic. The breakfast left nothing to be desired and the dinner was also very tasty and plentiful. The operator is very nice and helpful. I'll be back next time. Clear recommendation

The hotel / room is beautiful and comfortable, large and nice rooms. Overall the compound is very nice. The location is quite isolated and you have to think about the dinners in advance because everything is closed very early. Reasonable breakfast +. The service is less good. We got the keys to the room and the owner disappeared. We couldn't ask questions, get explanations and the wifi connection worked almost out of nowhere in the complex. Too bad, to a potential place ...

We were in the house next door. The room with kitchen and balcony was sooo nice. I would like to come again. And you had super nice peace and so many hiking trails all around.

Room (3/5): Our room was nice spacious, very clean, but unfortunately a bit getting old. Especially the bathroom is very dark and old. The room was quiet despite the family with toddlers next door. The decor is convenient but functional. Restaurant (3/5): The restaurant is very renovated and invites you for breakfast or dinner. At dinner we were a little disappointed, the dishes were okay but nothing special. We would have expected something more for 25 €. The breakfast was good, we did not miss anything. Service (4/5): The staff was nice and helpful, we were a bit surprised that we got an apartment without room service, there was nothing in the Groupon offer and there is also a star deduction. Location (4/5): The hotel is located about 10km away from the Schluchsee and about 25km away from the Feldberg. It takes about 25min to Feldberg. IMPORTANT: at the weekend at 08:30 drive from the hotel, otherwise you are facing the Feldberg in a traffic jam and get no parking. The roads are very narrow, in heavy snow it does not hurt to have snow chains in the trunk. Internet (3/5): There is free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. The connection is good everywhere, but the bandwidth is low (about 2-4Mbit / s).

As an external guest you have to pre-reservation and has the choice from the current half-menu card (2vor dishes, 3 main courses and 2 dessert). We were there 3 times and it always tasted very good (also very plentiful). The service was very friendly and accommodating So conclusion: We liked it and tasted it. Can we recommend without restriction

Misleading Groupon Offers! If you use an offer from Groupon you will not get a hotel room, but a poorly equipped 1-room apartment of approx. 20 square meters, which (including waste disposal) must be cleaned on departure. The equipment of the apartment was put together from various discounters and was supplemented by very uncomfortable closet / folding beds from the 70s. The staff is very friendly, but can be classified as unskilled. The food in the restaurant can be described as middle class. The breakfast buffet offers a decent selection, but at the same time the staff at the buffet helped themselves, which detracts from the comfort. When we asked the boss about the problems with our room, he did not react very customer-friendly and only assigned responsibility for the offer to Groupon. In the end we left earlier as it was definitely not what you would expect when you look at the hotel's website (where there is no mention of the vacation rentals).

Idilic place to stay for the Christmas season. We arrived by train so had no transport of our own but this was not a problem, we enjoyed walking around the area. Very peaceful and isolated, perfect for us. We would like to return during the spring or summer to see the area in a different way.

Food was great, room was very nice. And quiet wars.Only the service was probably seasonally in use. Pleasure at work looks different. Unfortunately, we also noticed that as guests.

The location is great! You are isolated from the rest of our busy world. Exactly what we were looking for: a small village with just four streets, no shops, no nothing, just nature (and a lot of trees). Bigger villages (shops, restaurants, sightseeing) are not too far away. During summertime there is not even a bus, so you definitely need a car! Schönenbach (exact name of this village) offers pure silence. We rented a room in the house next to the hotel ('Wohnung 2'). It was clean, had enough space for two persons and offered a lovely view over this part of Schwarzwald. All kitchen appliances worked correctly. We did not eat in the restaurant, so we don't know anything about breakfast and dinners that are offered. At arrival there were no kitchen towels (but there were 4 big towels in the bathroom). We had to ask for kitchen towels and a garbabe bag, which we got immediately without any problem! Sometimes the wifi-signal in the house disappeared (probably due to the number of users during evening hours). But when available, the signal worked perfectly and at a good speed (Netflixing was possible!)

As a starting point for hikes in the area really well suited. Spacious (comfort rooms) and newly furnished rooms, nice guest room and a good kitchen. Service was good too. And that the corner of the Black Forest is pretty quiet, you know when you book :-)
